If you follow me on social media you may have seen my posts about ceremonial cacao . I've been drinking Firefly Chocolate Ceremonial Cacao for several years now. When I gave up caffeine I realized it wasn't the coffee i missed so much it was the ritual of preparing it on my days off to share with my husband. Cacao assists in opening our blood vessels and can increase circulation by up to 30% which makes you feel more ALIVE but also has a calming effect on the body. These are just a few of the tidbits I've come to love about cacao.

I’ve really enjoyed pairing cacao with other plant medicines such as hemp seeds and essential oils. Here are my basic recipes and some additional preparations.
Basic Preparation
Cold Cacao
1 pitted date
3-5 discs of cacao
½ cup unsweetened almond milk or water
Add all to a Vitamix or high speed blender and blend 1-2min until cacao is completely blended and no more visible granuals exist.
Hot Cacao
1 pitted date
3-5 discs of cacao
½ cup unsweetened almond milk or water
Warm the milk and water in a small saucepan. Add all ingredients to the Vitamix and blend until frothy.

Chocolate Cherry Bomb
1/8 of a cup of dried cherries
3-5 discs of cacao
pinch of cinnamon
¼ cup of oat milk
¼ cup water
Nutty Cacao
1 Tbl Hemp Hearts
3-5 discs cacao
1 pitted date
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup water
Wild Orange Cacao
3-5 discs cacao
1 pitted date
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup water
1 drop Wild Orange Doterra Essential Oil
Earthy Tumeric Cacao
3-5 discs cacao
1 pitted date
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup water
1 drop Tumeric Doterra Essential Oil
Creative Add ins:
1 Tbl Hemp Hearts
Pinch of Vietnamese Cinnamon
Pinch of Sea Salt
Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
Substitute Almond milk for oat, cashew or soy milk
Subsitute other food grade essential oils: cardamom, cinnamon, clove, ginger
