Making Small Soup Crocks with Gnocchi inspired handles: 22min

These pieces were made for The Shipwright’s Daughter, a restaurant in Mystic where Chef David Standridge was recently named a James Beard award recipient for Best Chef NorthEast. The video includes a detailed description of how I created two sized of the side handled bowls or soup crocks with handles inspired by gnocchi pasta. You will also learn:

  • The throwing process for both smaller and larger bowl sizes

  • How to undercut for less trimming and creating pieces for easy stacking

  • Design considerations for restaurant pieces

  • Side profile and overhead views of the throwing process with verbal diretions
